Our Alzheimers experience
At Wood Private Home Care, we understand the struggles families face when facing dementia and Alzheimers care. We are here to help. We put our dementia and Alzheimers care experience with clients to good use by continuing to build on what works most successfully.
Our home aides receive special training to care for seniors with Alzheimers disease and dementia, and we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care to support families during this difficult time.
We understand Alzheimers disease, its symptoms, and how it affects behavior. We know that it progresses at different rates for different seniors. We understand what families are going through and we assist in reducing the stress levels of family members as well as the clients.
Our home aides understand fully the impacts of dementia and Alzheimers. They get to know the senior on a personal level, learning about likes, dislikes and even past events in the senior’s life. While developing a relationship with the senior, the aide can plan activities that could help the senior stimulate mental or physical activities that have been shown to create more lucid thought.
For example, the senior and home aide often listen to music together from the senior’s favorite era, read a favorite book or even do memory exercises like looking through family photos or discussing current events.
